There are serious reforms we need to make in Albany to ensure we have a government that is truly representing the needs of the people. We have to reign in the infulence of money in our political system by lowering the contribution limit and closing loopholes that allow special interests to skirt the limits that are currently in place. That isn't enough - we also have to reform our state's ethics laws, including opening up the Senate Ethics Committee to public hearings, limiting the income politicians can make to ensure they are truly representing their constituent's best interests, and making it easire to investigate and prosecute corrupt politicians. To truly make elected officials accountable, we should make it easeir to vote by passing automatic voter registration laws and allow early voting.
