Port Washington-- Brad Schwartz, Democratic candidate for NY State Senate in District 7, raised $123k in the latest filing in a challenge to Republican incumbent, Sen. Elaine Phillips who raised $75K. Schwartz, who began fundraising in October, already boasts more donors than Phillips has garnered during her first year in office.
Schwartz also maintains total cash advantage with $106K vs. $70K for Phillips. Schwartz also starts 2018 as the top fundraisers among all newly declared candidates for the NY State Senate (both in terms of funds raised and cash on hand.
Schwartz's total reciepts also rank him among the Top 10 biggest fundraiser this filing period for all state senate campaigns, including sitting incumbents:

95% of contributors to Schwartz's campaign were individual donors.
